The Parthenon of Athens is a collection of stones, it is oppressive and meaningless in its beauty and permanence – unmoving and always existent, a fragment of a history written in the present. In order to become unfrozen, the Parthenon must be re-thought through mediation.

I printed a poster of the Parthenon and cut it into fragments which I made into postcards. This way they can be truly activated with the undertaking of the missive. It is important that they can be mailed because this way they can be sent out as a type of final message – once these mediated historical fragments start arriving in the mailbox, one can ostensibly be assured that the world is indeed ending.
